Here at voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa, we aim to look after the planet with the same care we look after our guests. Recycled pillow- and duvet-fillings, refillable, plant-based bathroom amenities, filtered water and aerated shower heads are all part of what makes us a sustainable hotel brand. We know the journey to sustainability is a long process, but it’s one that we’re committed to.
Pillow and duvet fillings made from 100% recycled material
The luxurious filling for our duvets and pillows is made from 100% recycled materials, and has GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.
One of our European suppliers, Fine Bedding Company, estimates that the filling for a 10.5 tog king duvet and four standard pillows is the equivalent of 230 recycled 0.5l PET bottles.
Reusable Glass Water Bottles
Where possible, the water in our meeting areas and guest rooms is filtered and served in refillable glass bottles, which saves an estimated 300+ plastic bottles per hotel per room per annum (based on consumption and 80% occupancy).
Aerated Shower Heads
Aerated shower heads restrict the flow of water by mixing it with air. An equivalent, same sized but non-aerated shower head uses 30-50% more water per minute.
Refillable Plant-Based Bathroom Bulk Amenities
The plant-based, vegan friendly ingredients of our refillable bathroom amenities are sourced to ensure that they do not negatively impact their ecosystem; and the refillable bottles help reduce plastic waste.
Antipodes:
- 500ml bottle is recyclable and biodegradable
- Organic, vegan-friendly ingredients
- Not tested on animals
- Free from Parabens, MIT, Silicones, Gluten and other harmful chemicals
Renewable Energy
100% off our hotel’s electric is now being supplied through renewable sources. LED and high-performance lighting has been installed within our guest rooms, public areas and back of house.

Bee Hives
Britain’s bees are in trouble! Here at voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa, we want to lend a hand to our buzzing friends. That’s why by the end of 2024 we will have expert beekeepers who will keep their very own hives here on our grounds to produce local honey for our restaurants.
Foraging Wild Kitchen
We are in the process of creating a unique experience incorporating our local surroundings. Forager chef Lucia Stuart directly links the landscape to the table. Gourmet foraging days & wild food events in the Surrey countryside and beyond.
We should have this experience up and running in the coming months.
Giving Back to our Local Community
The Haslemere Youth Hub
We work closely with The Haslemere Youth Hub to help raise funds for the hub to support the local youth of Haslemere. We have worked together on the following:
- Pizza Children’s Workshop
- Christmas Present Donation
- Contributed to their coffee morning
Sport Haslemere
Sport Haslemere is a local non-profit organisation that are trying to recognise and give a voice to minorities in the local area. We are hosting a Gala Sports Evening on a complimentary basis so all funds raised for the event will go to help those who need it.
